If picking ripe apples is one of the things on your fall bucket list, then you're in luck. Dallas might not have a ton of apple orchards, but there are two places where you can go to pick the fruits yourself. Bring the whole family and make a day of learning about agriculture and celebrating the season of autumn.

Be sure to double check with both orchards before showing up to see if their products are available on that specific day.

Henrietta Creek Orchard in Roanoke

This beautiful orchard has over 500 hybrid dwarf apple trees, and when you come to pick your own apples, there are six different varieties to choose from, including Fuji, Granny Smith and Golden. You should also check out the honey, salsa and fruit butters that are for sale in the Apple House. The opportunity to pick apples starts in mid-September and lasts until mid-October, so plan your trip today by visiting their website or keeping up with the Henrietta Creek Apple Orchard Facebook page

Efurd Orchards Inc. in Pittsburg

Although this company just closed their summer peach-picking season, they plan to re-open their doors mid-September to sell pumpkins and apples for the fall. Keep up with the Efurd Orchards Facebook page to find out when you can participate in their autumn activities, or call 903-856-2253 to learn what produce is currently in season.
