Angie Lamb, General Manager at Twin Coves Marina in Flower Mound, appointed President of the Marina Association of Texas.

The 43rd Annual Marina Association of Texas (MAT) Conference & Trade Show was recently held at the Isla Grand Beach Resort at South Padre Island, Texas from September 28 - October 1, 2015.   The conference features included the 6th annual Nyle Mann Memorial Golf Classic; a variety of industry, motivational and educational speakers; a trade show featuring an assortment of industry vendors and professionals; as well as the annual installation banquet.

The 2016 MAT Installation Banquet was held on September 30, 2015. Several representatives from Marinas International, a Dallas-based marina management company, were recognized at the induction ceremony. Delegates from Marinas International included Jill Sassor of Walden Marina on Lake Conroe, Kelly Eiras of Emerald Point Marina on Lake Travis; Matt Hogg of Silver Lake Marina on Lake Grapevine, Caroline Jackson of Scott’s Landing Marina on Lake Grapevine, and Angie Lamb of Twin Coves Marina on Lake Grapevine.  Also in attendance were Jay Teitelbaum, John Swick and Jeff Rose from the Marinas International corporate headquarters. 

Award Winners

  • Angie Lamb, who served as Vice President in 2015, was inducted as the newly appointed President of the Marina Association of Texas.
  • Caroline Jackson was appointed to a second term on the Board of Directors.
  • Matt Hogg, Kelly Eiras and Jill Sassor each started their first term on the Board of Directors.

Past presidents from Marinas International include Marshall Funk, Jeff Rose, John Swick, Jay Teitelbaum and Gilbert Welch.

The Marina Association of Texas (MAT), a non-profit, volunteer organization composed of marinas on the inland and coastal waters of Texas, as well as associate members- whose firms supply products and services to marinas, was organized in January of 1973 with a mission to improve, protect and advance the interest of the marina industry in Texas. It was initiated through the Sea Grant Program of Texas A&M University. The Marina Association of Texas was the first association of its kind in the nation.  Members come together annually to share ideas, knowledge and experiences for the mutual benefit of all within the industry. It is directed by a member-elected Board of Directors and officers. Each will serve a one year term in their respective position and are dedicated to furthering the growth and development of the association.
