The Lemonade Pals, a grassroots effort that has raised more than $20,050 over eight years, asked cars to Stop for CF in an effort to raise awareness and donations. North Texas children and parent-helpers held six lemonade stands in Highland Village’s Highland Shores neighborhood; Flower Mound’s Bella Lago, Tour 18, Bridlewood and Wellington neighborhoods; and the Lantana neighborhood. Together, the kids brought in $4,200. Bella Lago earned the Lemonade Cup by bringing in the most donations for the cause.
North Texas communities have generously supported this effort, by kids and for kids, to impact the lives of neighbors living with CF, a life-threatening disease that attacks the lungs and digestive system. CF affects about 30,000 children and young adults, and more than 10 million Americans are unknowing carriers of this inheritable genetic disorder. The Lemonade Pals, recognized by the State of Texas for their contributions, plan to continue the fundraising tradition each spring.

The Lemonade Pals are children of volunteers with the North Texas Wine Opener, which to date has raised $2.2 million for the CFF. The 10th year gala event will feature a seated dinner prepared by acclaimed chef Morris Salerno of The Grotto; a selection of fine wine generously supplied by Newton Vineyard; and a silent and live auction led by GDP Auctioneer Services. The ‘Red Carpet Reverie’ theme will spotlight moments from the decade of fundraising, progress made and lives lost.
