Flower Mound High School Theatre Arts Presents

The Boys Next Door AND Steel Magnolias

-- PAWS Performances Kicks Off 2016-17 Theatrical Season --

Flower Mound, Texas – Sept. 19, 2016 – Flower Mound High School Theatre Department opens its season this month with two shows in the Black Box Theatre featuring the actors from its Varsity Theatre Company, Dramatic PAWS.

The first show, The Boys Next Door by Tom Griffin, depicts the life of four mentally challenged men living in a group home along with Jack, the young and increasingly burned out social worker who supervises them. This two-act play “moves the audience to an awareness of how many things in everyday life we take for granted.” (NY Times)

The second show, Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling, explores the lives of six sassy women from a small southern town.  They are realistic and witty, and the strength of the characters ties them together through the best and worst of times.  “Suffused with humor and tinged with tragedy” (NY Post), Steel Magnolias is a story of love, loss, and enduring friendship.

Performances of The Boys Next Door run September 29 (7:00 p.m.), October 1 (2:30 p.m.) and October 2 (2:30 p.m.).  Performances of Steel Magnolias run September 30 (7:00 p.m.), October 1 (7:00 p.m.) and October 3 (7:00 p.m.).  Both shows will be held in the Flower Mound High School Black Box, 3411 Peters Colony Road, Flower Mound. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and are available online now by visiting
